Reminders for the New Year

• Planners and take home folders should be brought to and from school everyday.  Parents should be signing planners, emptying folders, and correcting homework everyday!
• Math homework is assigned most nights.  Keep in mind there are 2 new pages assigned each night.  Please also remember you should NOT work ahead in the homework packet.
• Students should read every night for 15-20 minutes independently.
• For students working on the monthly reading challenges; if the challenge for the day involves reading, that counts toward the expected 15-20 minutes. 
•   Students are given a  time test every Wednesday for their math facts.  In February, everyone will be switching over to subtraction who has not done so yet.  These score count on your child's computation grade.
• Students should come to school dressed for winter.  That not only means wearing warm clothes for going outside, but wearing warm clothes for inside.  Please make sure your child's things are labeled.
